A new name for a historic city filled with smiles. With the launch of the "Paramaribo city of smiles" campaign aimed at branding the capital of Paramaribo in the world a next step is taken to make Paramaribo more tourist friendly. This awareness campaign which is endorsed by the government and the private sector in Suriname should provide Paramaribo with a new face to the world. Paramaribo City of smiles is chosen because people from all over the world with different colors, religions and culture live harmoniously among each other for decades. Suriname Tourism network endorses the “Paramaribo city of smiles” campaign and will add its contribution by adding the slogan wherever it fits in the website. Paramaribo city of smiles is currently being enforced by a community group.
