Most of the Rapids in Suriname can only be reached by boat and airplane. Baaka Boto is a sula(rapid) that is reachable by car. Located downstream to the Suriname river, Baaka Boto can be reached within 3 hours. Not a tourism destination for 1 day but if you leave Paramaribo early enough you can enjoy this destination  as a day trip. The drive from Paramaribo will lead you trough Paranam and brownsweg on the way to Baaka Boto you can do some site seeing at the Afobaka Dam , but don't plan to stay at Baaka Boto for long for the trip will take much longer. There are minimum facilities at the Baaka Boto destination,  accept for sleeping facilities. So take most of the stuff you need with you.

Enjoy this destination for the neighboring rapid and the nature surroundings. Off course you can also start fishing make a jungle walk and even hire yourself a boat trip to the Van Blommenstein lake or select other exciting destinations from our tourism directory.
